“DUELLING DJs – PEEL vs HARRIS (Cuntry Music)” (MP3) ~ March 2005

“Is there a role for the banjo in the modern dance orchestra?” John Peel

This is a track I was creating when John died. I wanted to make him giggle like a schoolboy. He never got to hear it, so may you guffaw in his honour. It features the voices of John Peel and Bob Harris (see ‘Bob Harris Country’ - BBC Radio 2) with a touch of Derek & Clive. You’ll hear John and Bob debate Country Music. They may not agree on everything. (PS. During the weeks before he died, along with his pick of country tracks, John had been playing tracks from a grindcore band called ‘Prosthetic Cunt,’ with obligatory disclaimer, of course). Thanks for everything John – we miss you. In honour of your sense of humour, Listen With ‘Swearer’ presents

“I don’t believe it!” - Bob Harris

This track has been enjoyed, though not aired, by several at the BBC...

…and has received the honourable approval of ‘Prosthetic Cunt’ themselves.

Perhaps REPEATED listening can have a Lenny Bruce kind of effect…

* Andrew Morrison became a familiar and welcome voice to regular listeners of the John Peel Show in 2004, entertaining us with his ‘offensive content’ disclaimers, recorded for BBC Radio 1, and much enjoyed by John Peel on his show. You can listen to some of these on Andrew’s website at : www.andrewmorrison.co.uk  (see also: http://www.myspace.com/andrewmorrisonuk)
